Bertha Berrones Fuentes, 84, passed away on Sunday September 19, 2010, in Kyle. She was born on January 15, 1926 to Victor and Guadalupe Berrones. She always spoke of her wonderful childhood and cherished her family and friends. She touched many people and was often moved to minister to perfect strangers. She had a special gift.
Her husband, Tony Fuentes, Sr. and sisters, Lupe Lozano, Julia Salas and Locha Arjona, preceded Bertha in death. She is survived by son, Tony Fuentes, Jr. and daughter, Sylvia and husband Alan McPherson; grandson, Seth Randall Fuentes; granddaughter, Amanda Fuentes-McPherson and Nancy Bellows who was like a daughter to her; brothers and sisters, Victor Berrones, Jr., Casmiro (Milo) Berrones, Refugio (Cuca) Palacios, Mercedes (Chela) Solana, Teresa (Tere) Pontious and Ines (Futchie) Berrones and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and very dear life-long friends.
A memorial service was held in McAllen at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, September 24,2010.
The family would like to thank the staff at Seton Medical Center Hays for their outstanding care and all the family and friends (especially at TWC) for their caring support and prayers during this difficult journey.
