Ruby Lee Trappe Miller, 87, loving wife and mother, passed away October 15, 2010 at the Christopher House, Austin.
Ruby was born Oct 10, 1923 in Redwood, Texas to the late Alma and Bernard Trappe. She married Leo Arnold Miller on January 14, 1948 and they happily celebrated 55 years of marriage with Leo passing away in January 2004.
Ruby is survived by her daughter, Peggy Birney and husband Richard of Fishkill, NY, son Dennis Miller and wife Susan of Kyle, Texas, and son Harry Miller and wife Adele, of Hopewell Junction, NY. Ruby has 7 grandchildren, and 9 great grand-children. Ruby and Leo retired to New Braunfels after living in Corpus Christi for 40 years, where Ruby worked for GE Corp.
Ruby was always active in the Lutheran church wherever she lived. She participated in many church and civic volunteer activities, including making quilts for Lutheran World Relief, and the New Life Treatment Center in Canyon Lake, and Chrismons for her church.
Ruby actively volunteered when her children were young in their various scouting and school activities. Ruby was an avid quilter, china painter, oil-painter, gardener, and loved to sew.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests consideration of a donation to the Christopher House, Austin Hospice, 2820 E. Martin Luther King, Jr., Austin, Texas 78702-1544. Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park, New Braunfels, Texas 78130. Arrangements were with Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home.
