Fourteen Lehman High School choir members—a school record – have earned the right to represent their school as members of the Region Choir. They will sing in concert this Saturday, Nov. 13, at the Pflugerville ISD Performing Arts Center. Eight members either qualified or will be alternates in the next level of competition, Pre-Area, with auditions Monday, Nov. 22.

A total of 31 Hays and Lehman high school choir members emerged from a recent audition with a chair in the Region Choir, and 20 of those placed high enough to advance to the Pre-Area level of competition.
Seventeen Hays High School choir members will perform in the Region Concert on Saturday, Nov. 13 at the Pflugerville ISD Performing Arts Center, said choir director Nancy Cavendish, who called the showing “a great day.” Eleven of those, and an alternate, are preparing for the Pre-Area audition on Monday, Nov. 22 at Bowie High School in Austin.
The Hays choir students include Ashley Loosier, who is first chair in the Soprano 1 section, and Arianna Martinez, first chair in the Alto section.
Seven Lehman students meanwhile are headed to the Pre-Area competition, said choir director Daniel Arredondo, who noted the audition results established a new school record for Lehman.
Hays High students making the Region Mixed Choir included Loosier, Martinez, Paris Uch (chair 5 in the Tenor 2 section), Alaina McFadden, Cassidy Gotcher, Peyton Perez, Sydney Rye, Erin Wieser, Lane Cagle, Ely Allen, Ben Chida and Luke Leamons.
Rebel choir members in the Honor Treble Choir include Kayleigh Soukup, Lindsey Yazbek, Shelby Luke, Natalie Lyon and Leonela Hernandez.
Lehman students advancing to Pre-Area competition include Nicholas Wittkopp, Ethan Becker, Katherine Arredondo, Chris Park, Quentin Cummings, Kenny McCardle and Jordin Gonzales. Derek Jackson and Kate Widdowson have qualified as Pre-Area alternates. Other Lobo choir members who will perform in the Region Choir include Kristen Jefferson, Osheyana Martinez, Michaela Castillo, Maddy Hewitt, Sesily Faddis and Lea Jefferson.
