The holidays are upon us, and if you need a little coaxing to get into the spirit of the season, then take your family to one of these merry and bright events, guaranteed to provide plenty of comfort and joy.
The Downtown Buda Merchants Group invites local residents and visitors to wander the unique antique and specialty shops that are filled with holiday décor and treasures at First Thursday, Dec. 2 from 5-9 p.m. Downtown merchants will be open late for shoppers looking to find the perfect holiday gift.

The 31st annual Budafest event runs from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4 and Sunday, Dec. 5 on the greenbelt on Main Street, library parking lot and City Park in downtown Buda. The weekend event is stuffed full of fun including artisans selling handcrafted items of every type. And don’t forget the jolly man himself, Santa, will be there. The Christmas Parade will be held Saturday, Dec. 4 and is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the Buda Fire Department off of FM 2770 and will head north on Loop 4/Main Street in downtown Buda finishing in the parking area north of City Park. Christmas cheer will radiate throughout the season as the Buda Trail of Lights returns for the second year with fun, fellowship, music and holiday splendor at Historic Stagecoach Park. Mark your calendars for Dec. 16-22 from 6-10 p.m. and don’t miss out on this free family event. Visitors will enjoy a spectacular display of twinkling lights illuminating Historic Stagecoach Park with various Christmas scenes and themes from local businesses, churches, neighborhoods and organizations. Don’t forget the Downtown Buda Farmers Market will be open until Nov. 20 to provide the community with the freshest, highest quality, most nutritious and most reasonably priced locally grown produce and goods. The market is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 121 N. Main Street, next to City Hall.
