Post-wedding altercation leads to assault charge
A 21-year-old man faces a charge of aggravated assault after witnesses told police he repeatedly stomped on the head of a 20-year-old male while he lay unconscious on the ground.
Cole Staton was arrested by officer David Saenz at about 11:10 p.m. Oct. 16 in the parking lot of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 801 N. Burleson, Kyle, police records state. Staton and the victim got into an argument following a wedding ceremony at the church, police say.
Aggravated assault is a second-degree felony punishable by two to 2-20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
Man gets eye gouged at DQ
A San Marcos man is charged with assault causing bodily injury (family violence) after allegedly poking his roommate in the eye during an argument at Dairy Queen in Kyle.
Joseph Cavasos, 36, struck a 17-year-old male in the eye during an altercation over clothing, police say. The victim was treated by emergency responders at the scene.
Cavasos was charged with family violence because the two are roommates, police say. The class A misdemeanor is punishable by up to one year in jail and a $4,000 fine.
