Check It Out

by MELINDA HODGES

Got an e-reader? Want more audio books to download? Here’s some news for you: the Buda Public Library has signed up with the Central Texas Digital Consortium to offer you more downloadable materials.

Through the OverDrive digital resource platform, you’ll be able to download e-books, e-audio books, movies and music. You can check if your e-reader/mp3 player/computer is compatible with this service at http://www.overdrive.com/resources/drc. We’re scheduled to start this service on Feb. 28.

Are you getting ready to take a college entrance exam? Be sure to check out ePrep, the library’s video-based test prep tool. You can take practice tests, watch videos that explain every single question on the test or just work to increase your vocabulary from any Internet capable computer. ePrep covers the SAT, ACT, PSAT, PLAN, and SSAT tests, with the GED to be added soon. When bought for one student, this program starts at $100 per course. All you need to access any of these courses with us is a library card.
