Michael Joseph Harris Sr., 65, who has lived in the Austin area for the last 18 years, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on November 15, 2010. He lived an extremely full life and was loved by many. Michael will be remembered as a good, honest, ethical, and responsible and hardworking man and a loving father to his four children. He was an extremely active member of Santa Cruz Catholic Church and was involved with his local chapter of the AARP. He loved watching westerns and the news and he enjoyed watching cartoons with his grandson while eating pistachios.
He is survived by his brother Jody; sister, Michele and his children, Michael Joseph Jr., 43; Wayne Jason, 41, Meredith Jacqueline, 25, Lydia Jayne, 19, as well as his grandson Jett Michael, who will be four on November 30.
A memorial service was held on Monday, November 22, at Santa Cruz Catholic Church. His sister Michele will take his ashes to be buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in Baltimore, Maryland, the resting place of Michael’s parents, Charles Joseph and Jacque Marguerite Harris.
The family asks that donations be made to the local chapter of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
