High court rules against release of birth date information

Giving thoughts to running for the Buda City Council? Mayor Bobby Lane and council members Tom Crouse (Place 5) and Scott Dodd (Place 6) terms are up this year. Applications are available at Buda City Hall. Monday, Feb. 14 is the first day to submit the form to get your name on the ballot and March 14 is the last day to file for the May election.

The community kickoff for the Relay for Life will be held Saturday, Feb. 12 from noon until 3 p.m. at Barton Middle School. The community is invited to come out and learn what American Cancer Society and Relay for Life are all about.  For information contact Jody Delgado at [email protected] or call 512-845-7170.

Five-year-old Gus Koehn took a tumble on Saturday afternoon, falling on his arm, which resulted in a trip to Dell Children’s Hospital. A couple of bones were broken and he was fitted with a cast that he must wear for six weeks. Gus, maybe you can have “Aggie” red and a few stickers on that cast.

Connie Freeman was hospitalized with pneumonia and is in Seton-Hays Hospital. Ollie Boothe was admitted to St. David’s South Austin Hospital last Saturday. Hope both ladies are back home very soon.

If you are looking for tax forms, check out the Buda Library and while you are there check out a good book to read on these chilly nights. Also coming up at the Buda Library will be a program on “how to get started with organic gardening.” Local Buda resident Billy Gray will present information on Saturday, Feb. 19. from 2 to 4 p.m.
