Candidates for Hays County Judge — Commissioner Jeff Barton, a Buda Democrat, and Bert Cobb, a San Marcos Republican — clashed mainly on issues related to development, planning and water rights during the League of Women Voters debate on Oct. 11. Cobb, who is running on a platform of fiscal responsibility, was unable to identify what areas of spending he would cut.
