Academic Family Fun
Science Hall Elementary School hosts its Family Fun Academic Night Thursday, Nov. 4, at 6 p.m, a night that will be filled with hands-on experiences that can easily be duplicated at home. Kyle Fall Carnival Saturday
Kyle Elementary School’s annual Fall Carnival is set for this Saturday, Nov. 6, 2-6 p.m. on the local campus. Principal Elaine Meyer promises “an afternoon of fun for the entire family, including Games2U video games, dunking booth, silent auction, food and so much more!” Miss Kyle and Miss Teen Kyle will make special appearances. Listening at Carpenter Hill Tuesday
Hays CISD Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Lyon and school board trustee Marty Kanetzky will be on hand at Carpenter Hill Elementary next Tuesday, Nov. 9, 6:30-8 p.m., for the district’s next Listening Session. The sessions are designed to give community members an open forum to express their issues and concerns in an informal setting. The superintendent and board member will also talk briefly about the state of the district. A translator will be in attendance.

Carpenter Hill honoring vets
Carpenter Hill Elementary will be honoring local veterans at its Veterans Day programs, the first set for students Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 7:55 a.m. and 8:50 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at 6 p.m., first-graders will be performing for the adults’ ceremony.
Fuentes honors vets
Fuentes Elementary School welcomes all veterans to the Stars’ 2010 Veterans Day programs next Thursday, Nov. 11. Third through fifth-graders and their guests gather at 8 a.m. and kindergarten through second-graders hold their program at 8:45 a.m. Students are also invited to bring copies of photos of friends or family members before Nov. 10 who have served in the military for inclusion on the Fuentes Wall of Honor. Vets honored at Hemphill
Hemphill Elementary School will also be honoring area veterans on Veterans Day next Thursday, Nov. 11, with a 7:40 a.m. assembly that starts at the flagpole in front of the school. All veterans and community members are welcome. For information, contact the campus at 268-4688.
Elm Grove honors vets, too
The Elm Grove Elementary School Eagles extend a sincere welcome to all area vets for the Thursday, Nov. 11 Veterans Day assembly at that campus. The program begins at 9:15 a.m. in the cafeteria.
