Carpenter Hill, Pfluger Elem. leveling set
The Buda/Kyle mason’s cornerstone leveling ceremonies for Ralph Pfluger and Carpenter Hill elementary schools are set for Saturday, July 31. Ralph Pfluger Elementary, located at 4951 Marsh Lane (in Shadow Creek subdivision), begins at 9 a.m. The ceremony at Carpenter Hill Elementary, located at 4410 RR 967, will begin at 10:30 a.m. Staff and volunteers offer tours following the ceremonies.
Carpenter Hill tour postponed
Tours of Carpenter Hill Elementary School, which were scheduled for Saturday, July 31 following the Masons’ leveling ceremony, and for Friday, Aug. 6, have been postponed to Aug. 19, 6:30 p.m. Construction on RR 967 is in progress to create a turn lane into the school. As a result, access to parking is temporarily blocked. The leveling ceremony will take place as planned this Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Buda Vo-Ag Dinner/Dance on horizon
The 5th annual Buda Vo-Ag Dinner and Dance is on tap for Saturday, August 14, 6 p.m.-midnight at the Painted Horse Pavilion. Highlights include a BBQ dinner, silent and live auctions and a dance featuring music by the Sam Bentley Band. A cash bar will be available and advance tickets can be purchased at www.budavoag.org or by calling 656-8808.
Project Grad on Facebook
Calling all Hays High School seniors – you’re being asked to sign up for the Facebook group titled “Rebel Project Grad 2011.” Dee Niedzielski is the Facebook administrator for Hays High Project Graduation 2011 and word is that signing up for the group will bring you “up to date information on YOUR biggest party of the year: Project Graduation!”
Hope & Love & school supplies
Hope & Love 4 Kids is conducting a school supplies drive through August 13. Donation bins will be at the Kyle Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Bash August 5 and at Kyle Market Days August 7.
Additionally, the group Kids Racing for Kids has offered to donate their race profits to Hope & Love 4 Kids. They will be selling tickets for the July 31 race for $12, along with merchandise.
