Whistling past the bean field

Check It Out

by ALLEN FISHER

With only three shopping weeks until Christmas, the Friends of the Buda Public Library can help if you’re having problems with budget gift selections! Our annual Budafest Book Sale happens December 2-5 at the Library.  From the Thursday and Friday night members-only sales (6-8 p.m. both nights, with membership available at the door) through the Saturday and Sunday public sales, we’ll have literally thousands of books priced by the bag, plus some priced individually. You’ll find everything from autobiography to zoology, fiction and non-fiction, plus audio-visual items from vinyl discs to DVDs, along with puzzles and games (and you’ll have time to read, watch or listen to your gifts before you wrap them!).

There will also be a silent auction on Friday night and from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. on Saturday.

All proceeds benefit the Library, a true community treasure. Its collections and services range from computers and broadband Internet connections to audiobooks, job search assistance, current magazines and bestsellers, children’s programs, reference books, a community meeting space, information from and about our government, and many more.

For nearly 20 years, the Friends have expanded the library’s resources by funding additions to the shelves as well as new computer hardware and software. Help us help the library and get some great reading, viewing and/or listening at bargain prices on First Thursday and through Budafest weekend!

For questions about library services, call 295-5899 or e-mail [email protected].  Email the Friends of the Buda Library at [email protected].
