Can’t dampen the St. John’s BBQ & auction

STAFF REPORT

Two people were arrested for throwing bricks at a family member and her home east of Kyle early Monday morning, authorities say.

Norma Arenas, 22, and Billy Joe Romero, 23, believed to be the niece and nephew of the female homeowner, got into a verbal argument with her at her home on the 200 block of Tumbleweed Trail. When the argument escalated, Arenas and Romero picked up bricks and threw them at her, the Hays County Sheriffís Office reported.

They also broke a window and caused minor damage to her property. No injuries were reported in the incident, the Sheriff’s Office says.

Arenas, of Martindale, and Romero, of San Marcos, were charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a first-degree felony, and criminal mischief, a Class A misdemeanor. Both have since been released on bond, authorities say.
