Buda library director retires after 21 years

Kyle police are investigating a string of derogatory graffiti tags spray-painted on at least five vehicles and at one home in the Bradford Meadows subdivision early June 23.

One of the victims, Erik Olufs, said that his Nissan Murano SUV had racial slurs regarding President Barack Obama sprayed onto his front seats. He believes he was targeted because the SUV had an Obama bumper sticker.

“It was insulting,” he said. “It’s disgusting that people would do that these days.”

He added that vandals also stole CDs and other items and caused roughly $1,500 in damage to his vehicle.

There was no evidence of additional racist slurs in the other incidents. Vandals, however, spray painted male genitalia on the driveway of one home, police say.

All the incidents occurred on Johnny’s Way and Joy Lynn’s Drive in the south Kyle neighborhood.
