STAFF REPORTS
The Texas Department of Transportation will shut down Interstate 35 on the nights of Dec. 7 and 8 in order to demolish the existing bridge at County Road 210 (Dry Hole Road/Windy Hill Road). The structure is being removed to make room for a new five-lane span across the interstate.
The demolition will close the northbound lanes on Dec. 7 and the southbound lanes the following evening. The closures are estimated to take place between 8 p.m and 6 a.m. Traffic will be detoured to the access roads and will be diverted around the construction at the north- and southbound Buda exits. Traffic will re-enter the main lanes at the next access ramp.
In addition to replacing the existing bridge, TxDOT is also constructing a north-to-south turnaround bridge and extending the southbound access road between County Road 210 and Kyle Parkway. The $13.1 million dollar project is scheduled for completion in late 2011.
