College visits for every age

Ashley Nicholle Henley of Buda passed away in Austin, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, December 12, 2010, at the age of 24, after a long courageous battle with leukemia. She was born August 8, 1986, in Santa Ana, Calif.

Ashley graduated with honors from Hays High School in 2004 where she and her twin, Amber were cheerleaders. She attended Texas State University and she was currently studying to become a nurse at Austin Community College; this was her goal. She was very talented and enjoyed making jewelry, acrylic painting, especially birds; and she loved to travel. Ashley was very special to her family and friends. Even during her treatments, she was the family’s strength, more worried about others than herself. She kept on smiling, even during the hardest of times. Amber painted her this quote when she was diagnosed: “I never knew strength until it was my only choice.”

Her fraternal grandfather, Jack Giberson preceded her in death. Ashley is survived by her mother and father, Cheryl (Ferguson) Giberson and Richard Giberson of Buda; grandparents, Mary Giberson of Buda, and Tom and Carolyn Gill of Wimberley; sister and brother, Breezy and Grant Giberson of Buda; sister, Amber Henley of Buda; a special aunt, Marianne Hennig of La Grange; and many special friends.

In lieu of flowers, family requests your attendance at St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church in Buda on January 8, 2011, beginning at 11:30 a.m., to donate blood and platelets, in memory of Ashley.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, December 17 at the Hays Hills Baptist Church of Buda, with the Rev. Fr. Keith Tuberville officiating.
