MEJIA

by SEAN KIMMONS

Two Kyle men who allegedly molested their young relatives have been charged with indecency with a child by sexual contact and are set to be arraigned July 20 at the 22nd District Court in San Marcos, court records say.

Antonio Mejia, 54, molested his young granddaughter when she spent the night at his home at the 200 block of Lilac Way, Kyle, in February 2007, according to an affidavit.

According to a second affidavit, on or about Oct. 3, 2009, Manuel Robledo, 55, fondled his wife’s granddaughter, who was under the age of 17 and staying with them on Palomino Road in Kyle.

Later, the girl told her mother about the incident after her 10-year-old best friend encouraged her to do so, the affidavit said.

Robledo has a criminal history for a prior sex offense involving a child, the affidavit added.

Both affidavits reported that Mejia and Robledo intentionally and knowingly engaged in the illegal sexual acts. The two charges are classified as second-degree felonies.
