STAFF REPORTS
The Negley Elementary School Navigators will be offering a wide array of Back to School activities over the next week and a half, starting with Thursday, August 12, PTA-hosted kindergarten tour of the school. Participants should meet in the school’s foyer at 6:30 p.m.
Next Wednesday, August 18, grade level class lists will be posted on the school’s front windows at 3:30 p.m. Preparations are well advanced for that evening’s second annual parade, which begins at 6:30 p.m. Organizers say to “come out and see our teachers, staff and “Navi the Gator” passing out treats as they travel through the neighborhoods of Plum Creek, Meadow Woods, Mountain City and the Vintage at Plum Creek.”
The fun continues with the school’s Back to School Night Thursday, August 19, at which students and parents can come meet their new teachers and drop off school supplies from 6:30-7 p.m. Everyone then heads to McNaughton Park for the annual “Set Sail in the Park” from 7-8 p.m. Hot dogs, drinks and fun are promised for all and the campus sends thanks to the Fellowship of Plum Creek for its generous help with the event.
School starts Monday, August 23, and Negley announcements start at 7:35 a.m. with the tardy bell ringing at 7:40 a.m. One of Hays CISD’s most cherished elementary events is Negley’s PTA-hosted “Boo Hoo Breakfast” for all kinder parents dealing with sending their kindergarten students to school the first time. It starts at 7:40 a.m. the first day of school.
The word from Negley’s faculty and staff to their students is, “Negley Navigators, get ready for a great year!”
