Donna Jean Phillips, 55, of Niederwald, lost her battle with lung cancer on March 13, 2009, at her home. She was born July 24, 1953, in Big Spring, Texas, to Bill and Jean Stone. She married Alton Travis Phillips in Lockhart on July 17, 1975. Donna worked for the City of San Marcos, Engineering Department for the last 14 years. She will be deeply missed by the many lives she touched.
She is survived by husband, Alton; daughter and partner, Julianne Phillips and Erin Welch of Creedmoor; son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Annette Moore of Thibodaux, LA; daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Joel Burnes of Tucson, AZ; sister, Janelle Blackstock of Abeline; step-mother, June Stone of Big Spring; six grandchildren and many friends and loved ones.
Donna was preceded in death by father Bill Stone, mother Jean Stone Powers and sister, Margie Sandefer.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the many friends and family who cared for Donna and to the wonderful people at CTMC Hospice for their guidance and care during this difficult period.
Funeral services were held Mon., March 16, at McCurdy Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Duval officiating. Contributions may be made to the CTMC Hospice Care or to a charity of your choice.
