The Kyle Chamber of Commerce is an organization for entrepreneurs that create opportunities for their success. In the economic times of today, many businesses are searching for answers and are requesting that someone else help them solve their business downturn. Kyle Chamber members do not wait for a guiding hand to nurture them back into the black. Our members are the guiding hand that creates innovative solutions with unique ideas and honest hard work. Our members know that long-term success does not come easy. Many businesses are able to create a momentary flash of success, but it takes commitment and a willingness to change to foster growth over an extended period of time.
On June 30, 2009, at the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives State Conference in Lubbock, Texas, the Kyle Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau earned more awards than any Chamber of Commerce in this great state of Texas. This recognition is a hallmark reminder that nothing comes easy. Many hours of hard work and a steadfast commitment to excellence by our volunteers and staff members created an arena where ideas and execution could grow.
I have said time and time again that "The Kyle Area Chamber is committed to working with partners like the City of Kyle in creating a community where economic and tourism development can flourish." These awards are a testament to the hard work and vision of many volunteers and staff members who tell the great story that is "Kyle, Texas - Simply Charming."
The 2009 Texas Chamber of Commerce Media Awards which the Kyle Chamber won are third place state award in the magazine/directory category for the Guide to Kyle (Bobcat Fans Media), first place state award for the Kyle Fair and Music Festival brochure (Thumbnails Design), first place state award for a map of Kyle (The Hays Free Press), first place state award for the www.KyleChamber.org web site (Josiesque Designs), and a first place state award for the "Kyle, Texas-Simply Charming" marketing campaign (Thumbnails Design).
Art Roberts, CEO of the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives organization, the largest and oldest organization for Chamber professionals in the United States, stated that "The entire Kyle community should be very proud that the Kyle Area Chamber won more awards at our State Conference in Lubbock than any Chamber of Commerce in our great state of Texas."
A huge thanks goes to The Kyle Chamber Tourism Committee: Angie Mendez (Chair), Kerry Urbanowicz, Jim Hough, Krystal Loyd, Janet Disselhorst, Amy Dolan, Deidre Flores, John Hawn, Jerry Hendrix, Pam Schmidt, Rachel Butler, David Short and Maggie Martinez.
