The Hays girls basketball team will travel to College Station to face Magnolia West High School in the first round of the Class 4A Region III playoffs on Feb. 16. The game will take place at A&M Consolidated High School with a scheduled tipoff of 7:30 p.m.

Hays (24-9) finished the regular season as co-district champions. Lady Rebel head coach Donny McDonald lost a coin flip to Del Valle coach Tawni Angel, and Hays had to settle for the second playoff seed in District 17-4A. Magnolia West finished the season with a 13-14 overall record, and an 8-6 mark in District 18-4A.

Last season the Lady Rebs advanced through the playoffs in Region III, ultimately beating Del Valle 41-40 in the regional finals, which propelled Hays to the state tournament.
