Hemphill Elementary School fourth gade teacher Dianne Hearne has been named a semifinalist in the HEB Excellence in Education Awards for 2008. She is one of only 150 teachers statewide selected at this level, and she received $250 in gift cards from the company. Hemphill instructional strategist Paige Collier, who nominated Hearne for the award, says "I have been amazed at all of the wonderful things that constantly go on in her room."
