Connie Deane Young, 65, of Lockhart, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2008. She was born on December 23, 1942, to Claude and Mary Jewel Milam Deane, in Austin. Connie was a member of Manchaca Baptist Church, the VFW Auxiliary Post 3377 in Manchaca and the Lockhart Senior Activity Center.
She exchanged vows with her husband of 48 years, Jimmy Young, on April 1, 1960, in Austin. Connie worked for the City of Austin and retired in 1995.
She is preceded in death by her father, Claude Deane. She is survived by husband, Jimmy of Lockhart; mother, Jewel Deane, of Lockhart; sons, Donald Young of Dale; Bill Young and wife Pam of Lockhart; Barry Young and wife Debra of Spicewood; brother, Joe Deane and wife Cindy of Houma, La; sisters, Kitty Deane of Austin; Shirley Mitchell and husband Charles of Dale; Betty Doran and husband Jimmy of Niederwald; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 23, at 10 a.m., at McCurdy Funeral Home. The family would like to request that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society, in memory of Connie Deane Young.
