KYLE — A new early learning school is coming to Kyle.
Children’s Lighthouse was first opened in 1997 by brothers Mike and Pat Brown, who were parents and uncles of several young children. The idea sparked when they recognized the need for quality childcare beyond playtime and babysitting.
Now, the brand has more than 80 schools open or in development including the newest campus that will open at 1190 Veterans Drive in Kyle, which marks the fourth school in the Austin area.
“Kyle is my only location currently as one of the franchisees,” said franchisee Brad Fink. “We noticed the Kyle market is growing incredibly fast and there are, I think, between 5,000 and 6,000 homes being built just a couple of miles from the school. There are a couple of competitive locations there right now and they all seem to be pretty full from my understanding in terms of talking to the community. I think there is a real opportunity for the Children’s Lighthouse brand to stand out there and provide a premier level of childcare service.”
For Fink, owning a business and providing value to the community are important.
“Many families need that [childcare] service and at that same time, you are providing a huge benefit to them both in terms of the parents making sure their kids are learning and dropping them off to a safe, clean location,” Fink said. “But then also the kids, they walk in with a huge smile on their face when they see their friends and they walk out having learned a lot more.”
Children’s Lighthouse offers programs for children 6 weeks to 12 years old. Tuition rates are not available right now.

Fink anticipates construction to be complete sometime in the fall.
