Buda — The city of Buda was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year that ended on Sept. 30, 2021.
The report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive 'spirit of full disclosure' to clearly communicate its financial story and motivating potential users and user groups to read the report, according to a news release.
“We are honored to be continually recognized for this award. This will be the fifth consecutive year to accomplish such an achievement,” said Buda Finance Director Bianca Redmon. “My greatest appreciation goes to our entire finance team, the city manager and the Audit Committee for their continual dedication to the city of Buda.”
The GFOA’s Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
'The city earning this award demonstrates our commitment to meeting national standards and best practices for financial transparency and reporting. I would like to thank the finance department for their hard work in producing a quality transparent financial report for the Buda community,' said City Manager Micah Grau.
