City falls 835 Kyles short of world record
The Kyle Fair: A Tex-Travaganza was held May 19-21 and the city attempted to beat the Guinness World Record for largest same-name gathering. The attempt fell short of the 2,325-person record, with a final total of 1,490 Kyles in attendance. In addition to the Gathering of the Kyles, the three-day family-friendly event at Lake Kyle, hosted live music, a carnival and ribs and margaritas competitions.
