Dear Editor:
Just Like a Nut That Falls . . . . . . .
I'm a little cracked that's all. Boom, Boom, here comes my Kitty Cart, my Bus . . . . to take me back to the Nutty Factory.
. . . . . a jingle I learned at Girl Scout Camp on Lake Travis back in the 50's. Little then did I ever dream that this little jingle would one day epitomize the current crisis we are presently experiencing in our "Land of the Free and Home of the Brave” that we call AMERICA. [Crisis: "An unstable condition in political, international, or economic affairs in which a decisive change is impending" The American Heritage Dictionary]
I'm thinking "Is this for REAL?" as I watched on TV an angry crowd - - - - - - "PROUD Boys" etc. - - - - - storm our Capitol, urged on by a Sitting President who, failing to find fault with the overwhelming votes against him, had the audacity to think he could take power by mob rule.
Mob Rule. In America? I don't think so. At least I hope not. Unless we want Dictatorship. We endured a LONG and Heart Rendering struggle for our Independence ----- against all odds ----- the Brits and then among ourselves in the War Between the States. We ARE NOT going to give up now. We are a proud nation. We are a symbol and an example for all humans globally. But our World standing cannot continue if we do not vote as informed citizens. PBS, NPR and reliable Newspapers help. Also Texting or writing Letters to local and US government officials help our "Servants of the People" stay on the straight and narrow.
So let us ALL stay informed, vote informed, write those letters and not be afraid to speak up. Our freedom depends on it.
