HAYS COUNTY — Several area students received high honors from their respective universities.
Victoria Rutledge of Driftwood was named to the Mississippi State University spring 2023 President’s List. Rutledge was among more than 4,000 students named to the spring 2023 President's List. Students on the President's List achieved a 3.80 or better grade-point average, based on a 4.0 scale, while completing at least 12 semester hours of course work with no incomplete grades or grades lower than a C.
Jacquelyn Smith of Buda is among more than 4,100 students who graduated from Mississippi State University in Spring 2023. Smith received a Bachelor of Architecture Magna Cum Laude from MSU’s College of Architecture Art and Design.
Middle Tennessee State University student Carlie Carstens of Buda was named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2023 semester. Carstens, who is majoring in aerospace, was among 5,430-plus students who made the list. To qualify for this distinction, an undergraduate student must maintain a current semester grade-point average of 3.5 or above and earn at least 12 semester hours.
Byron Ellington of Dripping Springs was among more than 7,100 undergraduate students at the University of Iowa named to the Dean’s List for the 2023 spring semester. Ellington is a undergraduate, second year student in Iowa's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and is majoring in English and creative writing.
