WIMBERLEY — Local senior living community Alexis Pointe Senior Living teamed up with Keep Wimberley Beautiful to introduce eco-friendly grass and wildflowers in its 1.67-acre detention pond.
This initiative helps with flood control and soil erosion and supports wildlife, while also requiring minimal maintenance for the community.
“We were happy to use our property to introduce a meadow of grasses and plants native to our particular area of Wimberley and the Edward’s Plateau,” said Alexis Pointe Senior Living Community Relations Director Katy Starr. “It’s so lush and green. We have an incredible view, and we’re helping the environment!”
The community hopes to inspire other local businesses to reach out to Keep Wimberley Beautiful to find ways to support its efforts to preserve the abundant wildlife in the Hill Country.
