KYLE — Two months ago, several families were left heartbroken after the beloved Mother’s Day Out Program (MDO) at First Baptist Church in Kyle closed its doors.

But just a few minutes down the road, they will soon have some relief, as Tiny Seeds Christian Preschool is opening in September at Fellowship Church at Plum Creek.

Jenny Bromonsky, who served as the MDO director for several years, will be leading the new preschool with the help of administrative assistant Jennifer Hannan, who previously served as a four-year-old teacher for the MDO program.

“We reached out to Fellowship and had been corresponding with them a little bit prior to getting this off the ground,” said Bromonsky. “The staff that's going to be there are all returning staff from the other program, so it’s kind of like our team stayed together and we're going to be moving over to this new facility.”

Bromonsky and Hannan understand what families have been going through since First Baptist Church in Kyle made its announcement that the MDO was shutting down back in May; it was a vital resource that community members relied on for childcare. That’s why they felt the need to open Tiny Seeds Christian Preschool.

“We knew how much that program meant to so many families. Jennifer, me and Amanda Golden have worked really hard to try to just get this off the ground, so that all the families that were seeking and searching for something like that would be able to continue that, because it's so beneficial to so many families and children,” Bromonsky said. “We were really just heartbroken and devastated. But I think through that devastation and heartache, it really lit a fire for us to see how much this is needed in the community and just the outpouring of the love that we felt from everyone knowing that this wasn't the end, it was just the beginning of something else.”

“The pastoral staff at Fellowship has just gone above and beyond to welcome us and see what they can [do] because they also feel the need,” Hannan added.

Tiny Seeds Christian Preschool is offering two- and four-day options from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. For more information about enrolling a child in the program, email [email protected].

Starting a new school comes with its own set of costs. Bromonsky said they need basic classroom supplies, furniture and monetary donations, but “anything is a blessing.”

There will be a fundraiser for the preschool from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 5 at Fellowship Church at Plum Creek, located at 160 Grace St. in Kyle.

“We will have a silent auction, food, a bounce house, face painting and little carnival type games for the kids. We really want to get the word out and invite people to come so that we can be raising money and be successful with all the things that we need,” Bromonsky said.
