KYLE — Ascension Seton Hays is now under new leadership.

Joan Ross, who will serve as president of the hospital, has more than 37 years of leadership experience in healthcare and previously worked as Ascension Seton’s chief operating officer from July 2020, when she successfully expanded the operating room, cath lab and electrophysiology lab services. She also helped the hospital reach a five-star rating from Medicare and Medicaid services and a three-star rating from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
“I am thrilled to be named president of Ascension Seton Hays,” said Ross in a news release. “I joined Ascension Seton during the height of the pandemic and have had the privilege to help our team and patients navigate a difficult time, while also facilitating expansions at the hospital to accommodate the growing community we serve.”

Luke Miller, who will serve as chief operating officer, also has previous experience in healthcare and completed a pharmacy residency at University of Florida Health Jacksonville. There, he joined the Ascension Florida Market in 2015 before accepting a job at Ascension Texas in 2017. Since then, he has served in numerous roles, such as director of pharmacy, director of operations and interim chief operating officer of Ascension Seton Hays.
“I am pleased to accept the role of COO at Ascension Seton Hays,” Miller said in a news release. “My previous roles at the hospital have provided me with great insight into the needs of our patients and staff and I look forward to working closely with Joan to achieve growth, success and high-quality patient care at Ascension Seton Hays.”
Ross oversees operational effectiveness and performance and strategic growth, including development of cardiovascular care, trauma, women’s services and neurosciences, while Miller will be responsible for the programs.
