Lady Texans rebound from loss
WIMBERLEY — Wimberley Texans Volleyball suffered a 3-0 loss to Davenport, but then rallied to shut out Bandera 3-0 last Friday on the road. Laney Hennessee led in kills with 12, followed by Mariah Mccoy with eight and Cameron Thames, Kenslee Brown and Addison Parks each had five, while Jesse Weeks added one. Rhagen Masur had 16 digs, Hennessee 13, Parks nine, Addie Laney eight, Weeks and Skyler Herring seven each, Mccoy three and Carson Peoples two. Peoples had 13 assists and Weeks had 15 assists, bringing her closer (1,948) to the 2,000-career mark. The Texans will host Navarro High School (Geronimo) at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26.
Tigers blow out Austin Maroons 56-0
DRIPPING SPRINGS — On Friday, Sept. 15, the Dripping Springs Tigers varsity football team traveled and played the Austin High School Maroons.
The Tigers came out strong and scored 42 points in the first half and 14 points in the second half; they played a tough defense and held the Maroons for 124 total yards on rushing and 14 yards on passing the entire game.
Notable stats on offense came from Tiger junior Maddox Maher (No. 5) with 68.2% on completion percentage with 181 yards and three touchdowns; senior Kyle Koch (No. 6) had seven receptions for 65 yards and two touchdowns; and junior Jack Tyndall (No. 18) had 11 carries for 122 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
The Tigers had 453 total yards, 256 passing and 197 rushing yards.
The Tigers next home game will be at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 22; they will host the Bowie Bulldogs, who have a record of 2-0.
