Dear Editor:
A few months ago, my wife found the website, Nextdoor, and started reading it. For those not familiar with it, it is an internet forum where people try to find lost pets, offer items for sale or give away, make recommendations on home repairmen, area restaurants, etc. But there was an explosion of input recently when someone brought up the topic of Kyle area growth. Several contributors to the conversation used the term, “uncontrolled growth,” and questioned, with the problems we are already experiencing with traffic, insufficient water supply, and growing crime, do we really just want to continue adding more and more housing and apartment additions? Some said they favored a moratorium on more subdivisions until we caught up with necessary road construction, adequate and reliable water resources, and necessary infrastructure.
Now the reason I brought this issue up was to say that now is the time for people to ask the mayoral and council candidates their positions on growth, not on Nov. 8th.
