In four innings on the hill, the Tigers starting pitcher, Cooper Rummel 7-0 (1.059 ERA), walked four, but didn’t give up a hit or a run while striking out eight Cardinal batters. With a 2-0 lead in the third inning, a seven-run rally in the bottom of the fourth inning helped Dripping Springs High School varsity baseball team earn an 11-1 run rule win over the visiting Del Valle High School Cardinals on Friday, April 19. Nick Tyndall came in to relieve Rummel in the top of the fifth and gave up one hit and one unearned run. The Tigers scored two runs in bottom of the frame for the win. Taylor Tracey went 2 for 3 at the plate with a double and a triple. “It was a great night for our seniors,” head coach Chris Payne said after the win over Del Valle, “we got everybody in the game.” A half game out of first place, the Tigers 12-2 (21-8-0) have their final home game of the regular season against Anderson at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 26. Lake Travis 12-2 (22-6-1) and the Tigers split their two-game series during the regular season, but for now, Lake Travis holds onto first place.
