HAYS COUNTY — The Hays County Crime Stoppers are having a record-breaking start to the 2024 year, according to a news release.
Due to community support, news outlets and local law enforcement, 50 individuals affiliated with the program, 12 women and 38 men, have been arrested in the first six months of the year. Each was on the Most Wanted or Wanted List, had an anonymous tip submitted or were part of a combined effort between Crime Stoppers and law enforcement agencies to locate and apprehend.
Offenses of those arrested include theft, burglary of a habitation, arson, stalking, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, assault family violence repeat offender and indecency with a child.
Hays County Crime Stoppers is a nonprofit organization created in 1981 to assist local law enforcement in publicizing information about crimes and wanted individuals by offering rewards for information leading to arrests and/or convictions.
