The Hays Education Foundation (HEF) announced that the Hays CISD inaugural State of the District event is set to take place from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Friday, Oct. 18 at the Hays CISD Academic Support Center central administration building.
The State of the District event is a fundraiser, with proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorships directly supporting the foundation. HEF is dedicated to enriching educational opportunities and providing resources for students and staff across Hays CISD. Funds raised will help support grants, scholarships and initiatives aimed at advancing staff and student achievement and success.
This event will highlight key programs and achievements within Hays CISD, showcasing the district’s commitment to excellence in education and meeting community employment needs. It will feature a keynote address by Hays CISD Superintendent Dr. Eric Wright and a special presentation by Dr. Greg Smith, executive director of the Fast Growth School Coalition. Both leaders are expected to offer insights into the future of education within Hays CISD, specifically focusing on plans to tackle the challenges of a fast-growth district and the impact of a lack of school funding from the state.
The event is open to community members and sponsors interested in learning more about the district’s progress and plans for the future.
