DRIPPING SPRINGS – The Dripping Springs High School Lady Tigers volleyball team is 41-2, and has extended their win streak to nine games and remained undefeated (9-0) in 6A District 26 with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-17) sweep over visiting Lake Travis High School on Friday, Oct. 18.
Henley Anderson led the team with 15 kills, Riley Certain had 12 and Christa Wilburn had 11 in the win. Callie Krueger had three aces, Wilburn had 18 digs, Krueger had 13 and Certain had 10. The Lady Tigers have away games against Del Valle High School and Austin High School and are predicted to remain undefeated and win district. Bi-District playoffs begin Nov. 4-5 and state championships are Nov. 21-23 in Garland.
WIMBERLEY – The Wimberley High School Lady Texans volleyball team (33-3 overall) is now 6-1 in 4A District 26 with a win 3-1 (22-25, 25-23, 25-12, 25-20) on Friday, Oct.
18, on the road against Davenport High School, which defeated the Lady Texans 3-2 in their only district loss on Oct. 1.
The two are now tied for first place in district. Addison Parks had 12 kills, but Davenport couldn’t stop Laney Hennessee, who had 29 kills in the win. Wimberley’s 70 defensive digs were shared by Skyler Herring with 15, Rhagen Masur and Addie Laney with 14 each, Hennessee with 11, Carson Peoples with 10, Parks with three and one each for Ashton Shipman, Lilli Sandoval and Cameron Thames. Masur had 27 serve receptions with only two errors. The team has 1200 kills on the season.
The Lady Texans host Bandera High School on Homecoming night, which is on Friday, Oct. 25 and Canyon Lake High School on parent and senior night, which is on Tuesday, Oct. 29. Bi-District playoffs begin Nov. 4-5 and state championships are Nov. 21-23 in Garland.
