Dripping Springs launches Hometown Holidays

DRIPPING SPRINGS — The city of Dripping Springs is launching its inaugural Hometown Holidays campaign, a season-long celebration designed to bring the community together for the holidays.

Kicking off in November and running through the New Year, Hometown Holidays is a comprehensive campaign that weaves together all the city’s favorite holiday traditions and unique events under one banner, offering something for everyone to enjoy, a news release stated. The campaign is all about celebrating the warmth and togetherness that make Dripping Springs such a special place, especially during this time of year. By combining all the festive events, the city hopes to inspire a sense of hometown pride and holiday spirit.

With a lineup of activities, Dripping Springs invites residents and visitors alike to experience the magic of the holiday season through family-friendly entertainment and events. From the iconic tree lighting ceremony and winter shopping markets to ice skating, music, holiday lights and more, Hometown Holidays aims to create unforgettable memories for residents and visitors.

Highlights of the city’s Hometown Holidays include:

• Western Wonderland – Nov. 29-Jan. 5 at Dripping Springs Ranch Park: Now in its second year, visitors will have fun joining events and activities, strolling the Trail of Lights and so much more. At the heart of Western Wonderland is the giant ice-skating rink.

• Dripping Springs Tree Lighting – At dusk n Nov. 30 at Veterans Memorial Park: The tree lighting is set for the Saturday after Thanksgiving to kick off the official season. The city of Dripping Springs, in partnership with the Dripping Springs Lions Club, will have a brand-new tree, lights and ornaments.

• Movie in the Park – Nov. 30 by the tree at Veterans Memorial Park: Attendees can watch “Elf” right after the tree lighting at dusk.

• Stroll the Stars – At 4 p.m. on Dec. 4 on Mercer Street: Join the city and the Dripping Springs Art League as they unveil six giant star sculptures designed and painted by local artists. It is the kick-off to bringing whimsical star sculptures to the city, each reflecting themes tying into the night sky, Dripping Springs and the Hill Country.

• Christmas on Mercer – Dec. 7 in Downtown Dripping Springs: From shopping to food vendors to Santa Claus and more, everyone loves the Lions Club’s Christmas on Mercer. This is the 20th anniversary of this wonderful and magical holiday event.

• Community events: The city also has a Hometown Holidays Calendar of Events where local businesses, organizations, food and beverage spots and anyone doing a public holiday event for Dripping Springs can post their event at www.destinationdrippingsprings.com/holidays.
