The Wimberley High School Texans accumulated 570 yards of offense, with nine touchdowns, to defeat Rockport-Fulton High School 62-21 in a Region IV 4A Division 2 Area playoff game on Thursday, Nov. 21, in Corpus Christi.
The Texans (10-2) will face the Cuero High School Gobblers (9-3) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, at UFCU Stadium on the Texas State University campus. A win will match Wimberley against Sinton High School (120) or Lago Vista High School (9-3) in the quarterfinals.
Texans’ quarterback Cody Stoever passed for 226 yards with three touchdowns. Nolan Waida had four receptions for 119 yards and two touchdowns and Bryson Anderson had two catches for 54 yards and one touchdown. Stoever also had 20 carries for 197 yards and three touchdowns. Benji Olmedo had seven carries for 84 yards and two touchdowns. Maverick Jacobs had two interceptions and recovered a fumble. Keith Cook was three for three and Bo Holman was five for six on point after touchdown attempts.
