Hays County’s number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 spiked overnight by 16 — including the first child. The total of confirmed cases now totals 77.
A female aged nine or below was included in the April 8 updated posted at haysinformed.com.
Other new cases were spread over age groups; however, there have as yet been no positive tests of anyone 80 years old or older. No one from Hays County has died of the virus, and only 2 people remain hospitalized (there have been 8 Hays County residents hospitalized). Twenty three people have now recovered, leaving 54 cases active. A total of 451 tests have returned negative for the coronavirus.
Other new cases included three women and one man aged 20-29; three women and one man aged 30-39; two men aged 40-49; and three women and three men aged 50-59.
