The Hays CISD will discuss declaring the May 2020 bond election, which was delayed to November, officially moot.
The call for a November election has to be made in August by law, and at that point the school district doesn't know what the COVID-19 concerns of the community are.
The agenda item for Monday, June 22 states "Discussion of Recommendation to Declare the Postponed May 2020 bond moot for the November 2020 election."
Tim Savoy, chief communications officer for the school district, said the discussion was spurred by the COVID-19 pandemic can other factors.
The Board of Trustees meets at 5:30 p.m. at Johnson High School. Members of the community may access the meeting at https://www.hayscisd.net/site/Default.aspx?PageID=196. Those wishing to submit comments beforehand can do so at
