New record: 210 new COVID-19 cases added

Hays County has once again set a new record on the number of COVID-19 cases to be reported in a single day with 210 new cases on Thursday, June 18. The county’s total number of confirmed cases jumped to 1,440, with test results in 63 cases pending.


The county has seen five fatalities. Three hundred and thirty eight people have recovered and 5,702 have tested positive.


There have been 51 people hospitalized, 14 currently.


Positive cases have risen at a rapid rate since June 10, with San Marcos overtaking Kle as having the most number of cases. The majority of the county’s cases are in the 20 to 29 age group, with 773.
