DRIPPING SPRINGS - The Dripping Springs High School Lady Tigers softball team defeated Westlake High School 8-2 March 28.
Dripping Springs (17-6-1 overall; 6-1 district) will host the Bowie High School Bulldogs at 7 p.m. Friday, April 4. The Bulldogs (12-5 overall; 6-1 district) beat the Lady Tigers 10-6 in the first round of District 26 play March 7, but have since had two district losses to Lake Travis High School (14-8-1 overall; 6-1 district). The Lady Tigers play at Lake Travis at 7 p.m. April 8.
Lorelei Gamble leads the team with a .597 batting average and 15 of the team’s 18 home runs. Dripping Springs has seven players batting over .300 and has a .336 team batting average. The pitching staff of Sadie Bradford, Addy Knapp and Tatum Green has a combined ERA of 3.52 with 84 strikeouts in 141.1 innings.
