The Dripping Springs High School Tigers boys and girls track team participated in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) 6A District 26 Track & Field District Championship, held at Burger Center April 2-3.
The Lady Tigers finished in fifth place with 56 points and the boys tied with Bowie High School for third place with 100 points. The top four competitors in each event advance to the UIL Area meet, to be held April 9 at Eastview High School in Georgetown.
The following Lady Tigers qualified and have advanced to the area track meet:
• Isabel Crew - 100 meters, 400 meters and shot put
• Hania Yeargan – shot put
• Adeline Spies – pole vault
• 4x100 meters - Ella Castillo, Emma Phillips, Gabriella DaCunha and Talia Alvarado
• 4x200 meters- Talia Alvarado, McKenna Riley, Rain Collins and Emma Phillips The Tigers on the boys team who are advancing to the area track meet are below:
• Wes Anderson - 3200 meters, 1600 meters
• Mattix DaCunha - long jump, high jump, 110 meter hurdles
• Landon Upchurch – triple jump
• Jackson Mills – long jump
• Miles Kennedy - 100 meters
• Merrick Bloomgren - 200 meters
• 4x100 meters - Jack Tyndall, Nick Tyndall, Jackson Mills and Merrick Bloomgren
• 4x200 meters - Cooper Reid, Nick Tyndall, Jackson Mills and Merrick Bloomgren
• 4x400 meters - Michael Mendoza, Cooper Reid, Maddox Maher and Jackson Mills
