DRIPPING SPRINGS — Class 6A District 26 champion Dripping Springs High School softball team (23-7-1 overall) will meet 6A District 25 runner-up Round Rock Stony Point High School (19-6-1 overall) in a bi-district playoff best of three game series beginning 7 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at Dripping Springs High School. Game two will be Friday at Stony Point at 7 p.m. and for game three, if necessary, the time and location are to be determined.
As a team, Dripping Springs has only been put out six times when trying to steal a base and the Lady Tigers have 119 steals on 125 attempts. Fifteen players have stolen at least one base:
• Morgan Riley is 16 for 19 in stolen bases and attempts, batting .238, scored 22 runs and has an .887 fielding percentage.
• Emma Phillips is 21 for 21 in stolen bases, has a .365 batting average with 26 RBI, scored 30 runs and has an .885 fielding percentage.
• Tatum Green is 22 for 22 in stolen bases, scored 39 runs, has a .416 batting average and 24 RBI and when not running the bases, she has pitched 54.1 innings with a seven win and three loss record, 3.22 ERA and 21 strikeouts.
• Kenna Riley is 14 for 15 in stolen bases and attempts, batting .227, has scored 24 runs and has a .958 fielding percentage.
These four players account for 115 of the team’s 235 runs this season or 48.9 percent.
The team batting average is .333 and has scored 235 runs on 257 hits. Lorelei Gamble is one of three players batting more than .400 — Kira Preslar at .421 and Green .416 — and leads the team with a .579 batting average, 12 doubles, 21 home runs and has 61 RBI. Seven players have a batting average over .300.
The pitchers in the circle for the Lady Tigers are Addy Knapp 6-1, 2.90 ERA, 41 innings and 22 strikeouts; Green 7-3, 3.22 ERA, 54.1 innings, 21 strikeouts; and Sadie Bradford 10-3, 3.38 ERA, 89 innings, 60 strikeouts and has a season total 23-7 record, 3.23 ERA in 184.1 innings with 103 strikeouts.
