Dripping Springs High School baseball head coach Chris Payne, pictured, was named 6A District 26 Coach of the Year. Payne took the Tigers (29-12 overall) to the 6A D2 State Semifinals, where they were defeated two games to one by Humble Kingwood High School (38-4 overall), who went on to win the State Championship.
All-District awards are: Most Valuable Player Taylor Tracey, Newcomer of the Year Jason Steele (also named to the University Interscholastic League 6A D2 State All-Tournament Team). First Team: second base Traigh Perry, shortstop Connor Helms, third base Tristan Ciechanowicz and designated hitter Dominic Hurley. Second Team: pitcher Blake Cox and outfield Jack Tyndall. Honorable Mention: Harrison Vallo, Gavin Heel, Nick Tyndall and Cade Sanders.
