WIMBERLEY — On Saturday, June 21, Wimberley will join more than 2,000 cities worldwide to celebrate Make Music Day — a free, all-day music festival marking the summer solstice.
From 10 a.m. until late evening, 10-plus venues across town will host live performances and “pop-up” music-making sessions, open to both seasoned pros and aspiring beginners.
Inspired by France’s Fête de la Musique, Make Music Day unites communities through song by strengthening social bonds, easing stress and lifting spirits.
“Wimberley has long been a haven for musicians and music lovers,” says Michele Woods, director of Tourism. “We’re thrilled to welcome everyone, whether you play, sing or simply enjoy listening, to be part of this global celebration.”
Visit www.makemusicday.org/wimberley for the complete, up-to-the-minute schedule of performances, workshops and jam sessions. All events are free, family-friendly and open to the public.
