DRIPPING SPRINGS — Dripping Springs High School set a new record for this year with more than 200 students earning a total of 234 industry-based certifications through the school’s Career & Technical Education programs.
Certifications were awarded across a wide range of career pathways, including animal science, biotechnology, business, computer science, engineering, floral design, health science and welding.
According to the district, these certification courses equip students with valuable technical, communication, collaboration and leadership skills, whether they are planning to attend college or enter the workforce directly after high school. These credentials help students build strong career portfolios and earn higher wages. They also provide foundational knowledge and skills critical for future jobs, giving students a competitive edge, stated a news release.
Students in the health science pathway earned the most certifications, with 76 total, including credentials such as certified clinical medical assistant, certified patient care technician, certified pharmacy technician and certified personal trainer. Additionally, 62 students earned the Stukent Social Media Marketing Certification, which is the highest number for a single certification.
