On Thursday, July 3, LatinoJustice PRLDEF and the Austin Sanctuary Network co-hosted a press conference and protest at the Hays County Courthouse to demand transparency regarding the April 1 Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raid in Dripping Springs, where more than 40 individuals, including minors, were taken into custody for alleged ties to the Tren de Aragua gang. “The goal is truly to push for transparency around this raid, but again, the lack of transparency here makes me worried about what could happen in the future,” said LatinoJustice PRLDEF associate counsel Karen Munoz. “I think we have the right to double check our federal government's work and our local law enforcement's work when we're talking about raids this big.”
