BUDA — During its July 15 meeting, Buda City Council called for a general election to be held Nov. 4, for the purpose of electing the At-Large Position 1 and Single Member District C council members.
Matt Smith currently serves in the at-large seat. He was elected November 2020 and was sworn-in to office December 2020. Smith is a former commissioner for the Parks and Recreation Commission, chair of the Amphitheater Committee and member of the Baylor Scott & White Buda Development Advisory Board.
Serving in the Single Member District C seat is Terry Cummings, who was elected in November 2019 and sworn in to office December 2019. Before her election to Buda City Council, Cummings served as the vice chair of the Buda Historic Preservation Committee.
The first day to file for a place on the general election ballot is July 19 and the deadline to file is 5 p.m. Aug. 18.
